What is the Motability Scheme? The Motability Scheme is a government-backed programme that enables disabled individuals and their families to access a brand-new vehicle in exchange for part or all of a qualifying mobility allowance.

    Motability Scheme benefits The Motability Scheme offers eligible customers a brand-new vehicle every three years, as well as a comprehensive package of benefits for worry-free motoring.
    A brand new car every three years.
    Insurance, servicing and maintenance included
    Full breakdown assistance
    Annual road tax included
    Replacement tyres
    Windscreen repair or replacement
    30,000 mileage allowance over three years for cars
    Two named drivers for your car

    Who is Eligible?

    If you live in Scotland, you may be eligible to join the Motability Scheme if you receive one of the following qualifying mobility allowances:

    • Enhanced rate mobility part of Adult Disability Payment (ADP)
    • Higher rate mobility component of Child Disability Payment (CDP)
    • Higher rate mobility component of Scottish Adult Disability Living Allowance (Scottish Adult DLA)
    • War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
    • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

    You'll need to have at least 12 months remaining on your qualifying allowance when you apply to join the Scheme.

    Can CUPRA Motability vehicles be adapted?

    Many CUPRA models meet the needs of Motability customers without being adapted. However, if you require specialist alterations to improve driveability, access or stowage, our team can arrange for these to be made. Many come free of charge.

    Will I have to make an Advance Payment?

    Yes, CUPRA models require an Advance Payment to be accessed on the Motability Scheme. The Advance Payment varies depending on the model and specification selected.

    Will I get my Advance Payment back at the end?

    No, if you finish your three-year lease, you do not get the Advance Payment back. This is because it essentially tops up your mobility allowance to cover the cost of your vehicle lease.​

    Is a home charger included with a CUPRA Motability electric car?

    If you choose a fully electric CUPRA through the Motability Scheme, you may be eligible for a home chargepoint and standard installation as part of your lease.
