Agreement guide

How Business Contract Hire works

Business Contract Hire, often shortened to BCH, is a long-term rental agreement for eligible business users. You choose an available Škoda, agree the contract term and annual mileage, make an initial rental and then pay the agreed monthly rentals for the duration of the contract.

At the end of the agreement, the car is returned subject to the contract terms, agreed mileage and applicable vehicle-condition standards. Business Contract Hire does not provide ownership of the car.

Ask for a BCH quote

The usual quotation journey

1
Choose a Škoda
Identify the model, derivative and equipment that suit the driver and the work.
2
Set the agreement
Select an available contract duration and initial rental.
3
Agree the mileage
Estimate annual mileage carefully and discuss whether maintenance is required.
4
Return the car
At the end of the contract, return the car in line with the agreement conditions.

What affects the monthly rental?

  • The selected model and derivative
  • The initial rental
  • The contract duration
  • The agreed annual mileage
  • Optional equipment
  • Whether an available maintenance package is included

What happens at the end?

  • The car is returned rather than purchased
  • There is no automatic ownership option
  • Excess mileage charges may apply
  • Vehicle condition is assessed against the agreement requirements
  • Early termination may involve additional charges
Important: Business users only. Finance is subject to status, eligibility and full terms. Offer details vary. Check the specific quotation for VAT, term, mileage, maintenance, excess mileage, vehicle-condition requirements, order deadline and any other charges. No ownership with Business Contract Hire.

Choose your business car

A Škoda for different working days

Compare body style, passenger space, boot capacity, anticipated mileage, motorway use, equipment requirements and the most suitable engine, hybrid or electric option. These examples are a starting point rather than a complete specification or availability list.

Compact & adaptable

Fabia, Scala and Kamiq

Practical choices for local travel, customer visits, mixed urban driving and businesses that value manageable dimensions.

Hatchbacks & estates

Octavia and Superb

Well suited to longer journeys, regular motorway use, client travel and drivers who need generous passenger or luggage space.

Business SUVs

Karoq and Kodiaq

Consider these models where a higher driving position, flexible seating or greater carrying versatility is important.

Fully electric

Epiq, Elroq, Enyaq, Enyaq Coupé and Peaq

Review daily mileage, access to charging, longer journeys and carrying requirements. Model availability and order status can change.

Company-car drivers

Compare more than the monthly rental

A suitable company car needs to work for business journeys and private use. Consider the employer’s vehicle policy, annual mileage, regular passengers, luggage, parking, equipment requirements and access to charging where an electric or plug-in hybrid model is being considered.

Company-car tax depends on current HMRC rules and the details of the individual car. West End Garage can provide vehicle and quotation information, but tax treatment should be confirmed using official guidance or professional advice.

Use the official HMRC company-car tax service

Electric & hybrid

Plan around real-world business use

The current Škoda range includes fully electric models, alongside hybrid options on selected cars. Specifications, availability and business offers can change.

Before choosing, consider daily mileage, home or workplace charging, longer journeys, winter use, passenger and luggage requirements, and how regularly a plug-in hybrid would be charged.

Helpful information

Škoda Business & Fleet frequently asked questions

Find answers about Business Contract Hire, mileage, VAT wording, maintenance, electric cars, company-car considerations and support from West End Garage Škoda.

What is Škoda Business Contract Hire?

Business Contract Hire is a long-term rental agreement for eligible business users. An initial rental is followed by agreed monthly rentals over a fixed term and mileage allowance. The car is returned at the end of the agreement, subject to its terms and condition requirements.

Can a sole trader or small business request a quotation?

Yes. West End Garage Škoda can discuss requirements for one car or several cars. Eligibility, finance approval, model availability and the terms of any quotation will apply.

Do I own the Škoda at the end of Business Contract Hire?

No. Business Contract Hire is a rental agreement and does not provide ownership of the car. The car is returned at the end of the agreed term.

Are Škoda business rentals shown excluding VAT?

The VAT position must be stated on each individual offer or quotation. Do not assume every displayed figure is presented in the same way; check the complete offer terms before making a comparison.

Can I choose the contract term and annual mileage?

Available terms and mileage allowances depend on the specific offer and funding criteria. Tell the team your expected annual mileage so the quotation can be prepared on an appropriate basis. Excess mileage charges may apply.

Is servicing and maintenance included?

Not automatically. Some quotations may offer an optional maintenance package. The quotation should state clearly what is included, what is excluded and how servicing, tyres or other maintenance items will be managed.

Which Škoda models are suitable for business use?

Suitability depends on driver needs, mileage, body style, passenger and luggage requirements, parking and budget. The Škoda range includes compact cars, hatchbacks, estates and SUVs, with different petrol, hybrid and electric options available across selected models.

Can I choose a fully electric or plug-in hybrid Škoda?

Yes, subject to current model and offer availability. The team can help you consider daily mileage, access to charging, longer journeys, carrying requirements and how regularly a plug-in hybrid would be charged.

Can West End Garage support servicing for business cars?

West End Garage Škoda provides servicing and aftersales support through Edinburgh, Dunfermline and Stirling. Discuss where the cars will be based and how drivers should arrange servicing and maintenance.

Can West End Garage advise on company-car tax or VAT recovery?

The team can provide car, emissions and agreement information, but tax and VAT treatment depends on current rules and the circumstances of the business and driver. Confirm the position with HMRC, an accountant or another appropriately qualified adviser.

How do I request a Škoda business quotation or test drive?

Contact West End Garage Škoda and provide the preferred model or body style, number of cars, expected annual mileage, replacement timescale and preferred location. The team can then discuss availability, a tailored quotation and a suitable test-drive appointment.
