Electric Škoda Servicing in Edinburgh, Dunfermline and Stirling

Enyaq, Elroq, Epiq and Peaq servicing by EV-trained Škoda technicians, with high-voltage system checks, charging-cable inspection and battery health reporting at all three West End Garage service centres.

Škoda Elroq charging – electric Škoda servicing at West End Garage

Quick answer: An electric Škoda still needs an annual service – there's just no engine oil to change. Škoda's EV service adds checks of the high-voltage components, the charging cable and the battery's state of charge and health, alongside brakes, tyres, pollen filter, brake fluid and software. West End Garage Edinburgh, Dunfermline and Stirling are all equipped and trained for Škoda electric cars.

What's in an electric Škoda service?

Fewer moving parts means fewer consumables, but the items that remain matter more. Your Enyaq, Elroq, Epiq or Peaq service at West End Garage covers:

High-voltage system

Inspection of high-voltage components, cables and connectors, insulation checks and fault-memory read-out using Škoda diagnostic equipment.

Battery health

State-of-charge and battery-condition check with a report you can keep – useful for peace of mind and resale.

Charging cable & port

Inspection of the supplied charging cable and the vehicle charging socket for wear, damage and correct operation.

Brakes & brake fluid

EVs use regenerative braking, so discs and pads can corrode from under-use – we check and clean them, and change brake fluid every two years.

Pollen filter & climate

Cabin filter replacement and a check of the heat-pump or climate system that also conditions the battery.

Software & updates

Check for and apply available Škoda software updates where they are not delivered over the air.

Intervals shown are Škoda UK's standard recommendation and may differ by model year and usage – your car's service indicator and our advisers will confirm. Tyres on EVs often wear faster because of the extra weight and instant torque, so we check depth and pressures at every visit and offer our Tyre Price Match on replacements.

Looking after your Škoda's battery

  • For everyday use, charge to around 80% and let the car drop to 20% before charging where practical; use 100% for long trips.
  • Rapid charging is fine for journeys – Škoda batteries are designed for it – but AC home or workplace charging is gentler for routine top-ups.
  • Pre-condition the cabin and battery while plugged in on cold Scottish mornings; it saves range and reduces battery stress.
  • Keep the MyŠkoda app updated – it shows charging status, range and service reminders and lets you schedule charging on cheaper tariffs.
  • Over-the-air software updates improve efficiency and features; our technicians can check for updates not yet delivered.

Electric Škoda servicing FAQs

Does an electric Škoda need an annual service?
Škoda recommends a service inspection every two years or 20,000 miles for its electric models, with an MOT annually from year three. The visit covers the high-voltage system, battery, brakes, tyres, cabin filter and software.
Is EV servicing cheaper than a petrol or diesel service?
Usually, because there is no engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs or fuel filter. The extended two-year interval also halves the number of visits.
Are your technicians trained to work on Škoda electric cars?
Yes. West End Garage Škoda Edinburgh, Dunfermline and Stirling have Škoda high-voltage-trained technicians and the dedicated equipment needed for Enyaq, Elroq, Epiq and Peaq.
Will servicing elsewhere affect my battery warranty?
Škoda's high-voltage battery warranty is 8 years or 100,000 miles. Keeping to the manufacturer schedule with an authorised retailer keeps the digital service record complete and avoids any dispute.
Can you check my battery's health?
Yes – a battery state-of-health check is part of the service, and we can run one separately if you're buying or selling a used electric Škoda.
Do you service the Enyaq in Fife?
Yes – West End Garage Škoda Dunfermline at Halbeath Motor Park covers Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes and the rest of Fife, with Edinburgh and Stirling also available.
What if my charging cable is damaged?
We inspect it at every service and can supply a genuine Škoda replacement cable or charging accessories from our parts counters.
