The winning model was the Škoda Superb Estate SE L 2.0 TDI 193PS DSG 4x4. Judges praised its combination of composed towing, strong diesel performance, four-wheel-drive traction, ride comfort and generous luggage space.
Its success in the Family Towcars category also recognised the Superb’s usefulness beyond the campsite. For drivers balancing everyday journeys, family holidays and caravan trips, comfort and practicality matter alongside towing performance.

The 2027 competition assessed 42 vehicles at UTAC Millbrook. Judges evaluated acceleration, braking, stability, reversing, comfort and visibility with caravans attached. Testing included a demanding Alpine route featuring a 17% hill start and a 26% downhill braking test, together with high-speed stability assessments.

Yes. The Superb Estate SE L Executive 2.0 TDI 150PS DSG won the Club’s overall Towcar of the Year 2021 title. The Superb Estate 1.5 TSI e-TEC 150PS DSG also won the 1,300–1,500kg caravan weight category in the 2025 awards.
No. Towing limits vary by derivative and model year. Check the individual car’s permitted braked trailer weight, gross train weight, towbar and noseweight limits against your caravan’s plated weight. The award’s weight category is not a towing limit for the whole Superb range.
